A banda The Cure vai abrir o festival NOS Alive em 2019, tocando no dia 11 de julho. O grupo de Robert Smith assinalou este ano os 40 anos de carreira e vai ser cabeça de cartaz de 20 festivais de verão.
Os ingleses de musica Rock volta a Portugal, depois de terem passado pela Altice Arena em 2016 e pelo mesmo festival, em 2012.
Os ingleses fizeram este ano 40 anos de carreira, os The Cure são uma das bandas mais reconhecíveis dos anos 80 e 90, altura em que o seu Rock mais negro despertou a atenção um pouco por todo o mundo.
Álbuns como “Pornography” (1982), “Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me” (1987) e “Desintegration” (1989) são alguns dos mais marcantes da discografia de mais de uma dezena de discos.
Um novo álbum aproxima-se e o fundador da banda, Robert Smith, já disse que a banda estava a preparar novas músicas para 2019. O último disco, “4:13 Dream”, saiu em 2008.
Atualmente, a banda é composta por Robert Smith (vocalista e guitarrista), Simon Gallup (baixista), Jason Cooper (baterista), Roger O’Donnell (teclista) e Reeves Gabrels (guitarrista).
Apenas Smith está na banda desde 1978 e já passaram outros 13 membros pelo mítico grupo britânico.
E como é de costume os The Cure vão tocar “mais de duas horas de música”, algo raro para os concertos em festivais de música.
